Beautiful Old Hotel with charm and history. Perfekt location in The City Center. Very close to the main street with shops, restaurants, the Metro, the Tram, Parks and Supermarkets. The Reception was very kind and helpful. We arrived at 2 AM and were upgraded to an antique room which was big but very worn down and smelly. In the Morning I went down to the Reception to ask for the Modern Room we booked from the beginning and they changed it with a smile. Thank you for the water, nice gesture. The rooms facing the Street are a bit noisy also with the window closed. We were woken every Morning at 8 AM from the Bells of Sveta Nedelya Church and a terrible Trompet Player/Harmonica player(the same melodies every day!!! ) . .. But that comes with the territory when you are located in the City Center!!!

Newly renovated, high-tech spacious room with lavish toiletries (Clarins) and furniture; crisp bedlinen, generous, comfortable bed, floor to ceiling French windows... excellent breakfast - with a wide selection of pretty much everything one could think of (including fresh honeycomb in a fancy setup)

Location cannot be matched. If you need metro, taxi or main pedestrian street with all shops and restaurants you could need, then this is your hotel. The bed was clean and comfortable. The Bulgarian staff were amazing and so helpful

The location was excellent, very close to everything. Breakfast was very good as well with a lot of choice, and the rooms were comfortable. The only complaint I had was that my room was not cleaned once during my stay (4 nights), despite repeated complaints. It's a shame as this is otherwise a very comfortable hotel.

Great location, comfortable bed, newly remodeled room. The breakfast is very good with quite a good variety of items. The front desk staff and the breakfast staff were very professional.

Located very near Serdika metro station just 3 mins walk, tram stop, walking tour meeting point. Can connect to and from airport just using serdika metro line itself without worry of transportation delay. Hotel is in Centre between churches, mosque and synagogue. The hall of justice is 2 mins walk where u can meet up for some walking tours surrounding city. Enjoyed hotel breakfast which start from 7 am till 10.30 am. Front desk personnel were very receptive and accomodating. There is an ATM exchange machine in front door of hotel to change euro into bulgarian leva if you are in hurry. There are also some exchange shops nearby about 6 mins walk. Rooms are classic look mix with modern furnishings, with woodlike flooring, and have bedside sockets. Bathroom has heated flooring though its marble floor. Views from room at level 5 are great. The place to be if you want to cover all visits in few days and perhaps extend to enjoy the hospitality.

Reception staff were excellent and took a lot of trouble to help me. Housekeeping staff not so good. Breakfast was good. I didn't really use any other facilities but I don't think the restaurant was open when I was there.

Excellent location in central Sofia by Serdika metro station, and very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. Close walking distance to most of the sights in the city and surrounded by nice bars and restaurants. Great base for first time visitors to the city and excellent value for money. One of the comfiest beds I've been in for a long time!

The property is stunning, the decor of the rooms are beautiful and the service throughout the hotel was top notch! Location wise you are at the top of Vitosha Boulevard and surrounded by some good bars and places to eat. I’d not hesitate to stay again as the price is very good value for money.

Charming and classy hotel located centrally in Sofia next to the metro station. The staff are professional and friendly, buffet breakfast was delicious, and the public areas beautifully decorated. The room, despite its flaws, was still charming with a lovely bathroom sporting quality bodycare products, the rainfall shower was a lovely touch. Beds were super comfortable. Balkan Palace has a great potential if the issues addressed below are taken care of. I will still be coming back again, hopefully to a cleaner room.
